![]() It was always supposed to be a spiritual thing, something vague and undefinable, a bit like the mysterious “energy” that those people who describe themselves using their Zodiac sign are always referencing. While the story of Star Wars is free to go in weird and wonderful directions, I don’t think the mechanisms of the Force should be tampered with, or indeed, explained, any more than they have been already. And to be honest, the Whills sound like a terrible idea, right up there with Canto Bight, Jar Jar Binks, and Han Solo receiving his name from a random guy at border control. You have to respect that, even if you disagree. I actually admire the man’s Whillpower (see what I did there?) - the toxic underbelly of the Star Wars fanbase can get real nasty, to the point of abuse, and Lucas knew damn well that there would be tantrums, but he wanted to tell his story regardless. Of course, a lot of the fans would have hated it, just like they did Phantom Menace and everything, but at least the whole story from beginning to end would be told.
